Application Notes

Protection on the move: garments sewn in YSHIELD's own workshop from its BLACK-JERSEY (40 dB), SILVER-ELASTIC (51 dB) and STEEL-GRAY (42 dB) fabrics. The elastic fabrics fit close to the body; all can be washed with TEXCARE.

Installation and Application

The garments are worn like normal clothing; protection is limited to the area the fabric covers.
Beanies and balaclavas should be fitted so that they also cover the ears and the nape.
Layering is possible: an underlayer plus outer garment combination gives higher total attenuation than a single layer.

Care and Service Life

Wash with TEXCARE at 30°C on a low spin cycle; dry without wringing, and use no bleach or enzyme detergents. Slight tarnishing on silver-thread products is natural and does not affect performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the clothing block my phone's effect?

With the phone in your own pocket it is contradictory: if the fabric sits between the phone and the body, it attenuates; but if the phone is on the inside of the fabric, the signal is directed towards the body. Carry the phone on the outside of the fabric.

What does a 40 dB garment mean?

It means roughly a 99.99% reduction in the high-frequency power reaching the area the fabric covers (1 GHz, manufacturer's laboratory measurement). Uncovered areas are not protected.

Does it stand up to everyday washing?

With the right detergent and programme, yes; the manufacturer designed it for regular use. The wrong chemicals permanently wear out the conductive threads.
